Levaquin (levofloxacin) is a fluoroquinolone specially intended for the treatment of infections caused by the presence of bacteria in the body. This drug works by killing the bacteria therefore getting the symptoms under control. Levaquin is usually taken once a day while the length of the treatment depends on the condition you are being treated for. It's important to take the entire amount of this medicine to benefit from the treatment as much as possible the following side effect are possible, although they tend to be mild and short-lived: diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, vaginal itching, heartburn, constipation, and headache. Report to your health care provider any of the following side effects that are considered to be serious: anxiety, seizures, skin rash or blisters, pounding heartbeat, severe diarrhea, muscle pain, hallucinations, tingling or swelling, loss of appetite, fainting, itching, chest pain, pale stools, confusion, unusual bruising or bleeding, dizziness, and dark urine. Levaquin will only be efficient if you take it as recommended. Don't combine it with any other medications and avoid using more than prescribed.
